Ever been to Carhenge? Located in Alliance, Nebraska. Is it worth making a side trip to see the 26 cars that are a replication of Stonehenge, England?

Yes, Just so you can tell your friends that you have seen it. But then again I like to visit the quirky sites that are part of the Americana road trip. I know where there is a 3000 pound gopher in W. Kansas if you are interested?

I live about 100 miles from there. The link and picture from the above post says it all. I can remember driving by there when they were building it and wondering what that idiot was up to!!! It's became kind of an oddball tourist thing. I don't think I'd drive to far to see it but Western NE and Southern South Dakota does have some other nice places to see if you are coming this way. Kool Deadwood Nites in Deadwood South Dakota, held in August, is always a good time. Lots of Old cars, free big name entertainment and Gambling, if you're so inclined.

Cheers

I agree with 1968SS. I've been there, but the only reason was because we were in the area going to the Black Hills.

Took some pictures with the kids and moved on.

I've been to Nebraska, and I know why they did that. There is plenty of time during the year when cornhuskers football isn't on, and not much else to do. ;)
