On a previous thread mr4speed and some other folks thought my cam selection was to big. I did some checking and found my compression ratio lower that what I thought it was. So I'm looking for a differant cam. I want to use either a Comp Cams EX284H or the 292H. I have the heads already set up with the springs for a 305H which I have and they are the same ones the other cams use. Also I will be going to a RPM intake. Any help will be helpfull.

Block : 396 deck shaved 0.10 with a .090 overbore for a total 414 cubic inches.
Pistons: 10.4:1 Forged Speed Pro Pistons and rods and crank have been balanced.
Heads: 96.4cc heads were shaved .010, closed chamber, 2.19/1.72 valves with a three angle valve job.
Lifters: Clevite anti-pump up
Gear drive: Eldelbrock, noisy
Intake: Edelbrock RPM
Carb: Holley 850 Double pumper
Distributor: Accel Billet Proof, Electronic
Coil: Accel Super Coil
Fuel Pump: Holley Electric (red)
Oil pan: Moroso 7 qt.

GENERAL SPECS:

Transmission: 4 speed Saginaw
Differential: 12 bolt posi. 3:73

I'm no cam expert but I'd bet the EX284H will be perfect for a dual purpose car, plenty of power to blow saginaw parts all over the road :D

Yes, or you can use the same one that works so well in BBMike's ride, the Lunati 280/88.

You'd really tweak that "Saggy" with that cam done on *tight* centers like 108-110. Manifold vacuum might be an issue though.
