hey y'all
I bought my first chevelle, 68 malibu back in march. I couldn't be happier, best toy ever! I've been doing a lot of work on it since I've got it, disc brake conversion, truetrac locker, etc.
I've definitely gotten the bug - and it seems I find myself cruising ebay and car ads wanting to buy another!
My question to you guys is, how many of you own more then 1 chevelle presently?? If so, how many do you got and what are they?

All I have is 1. I was thinkin about starting a tread like this myself. Finish the car you have before you buy another. 1 car will drain most people enough. Avoid the temptations, your not alone.

I currently own 2 but back in the 80's I owned one of each year from 64-72 at the same time plus a few duplicates :) man I wish I had those cars now :(

i think we are all "looking " all the time . i have just one a 66 ss that i can't seem to get the money together to fix the motor right.to date i've owned a rusty 70 malibu with a factory 350 benchseat 4spd with a 56 pontiac 456 posi rear, a 68 bu with a 327/pg combo, a 69 with a 350 pg combo, a 71 project that i sold because the offer i got was too much to pass up ( now it would be worth atleast 2,000 more) ha ha. three newer malibus, and finally my 66ss. the car i've always wanted. but i'm always looking.

:hurray: It's a great bug to have...good to see I'm not alone! I've got a '69 convertible, and I'd love to add to the family!

I used to have a 67 at the same time I had my 71. I should have kept em both! Oh well. I wouldn't mind another 67, and another 71. I dont have a problem with owning more than one :)

Finish the car you have before you buy another. 1 car will drain most people enough. Avoid the temptations, your not alone.

Funny, thats the same advice my wife gave me... She doesn't mind me having more than one, but she wants me to finish one before starting on the next... Good advice...

I currently have 3.

#1
1966 SS hardtop, needs FULL restoration, but is a nice California Rust free original that I have owned for the past 22.5 years (and it hasn't run in almost 21 years!). Missing the original motor, and I plan on a modified car ("stock" looks, but mostly subtle modifications...

#2
1966 Malibu Station Wagon. Driver with 400 SB, TH400, disc brakes, 12-bolt, 15-inch "Torque Thrust" wheels. It too needs a resto, but is a nice solid project. California Black Plate car. Even thought I have moved 120 miles away, the car sold originally at the local dealership 1/2 mile from where I grew up... I bought it last December, because it was local and the only body-style I have never owned (for 1966)... I am trying to sell it (but not too much effort put in) because I just don't see having the time and money to put into it anytime soon (because of those other Chevelle projects, home stuff, kids, work, etc)...

#3
1970 Malibu 2-door hardtop. "427" Motown small block, working factory A/C, Fab-9 rearend, TH400, nice California car. Needs paint, but a nice solid project. Green bench interior, but pretty nice condition...

I recently sold my '66 Convertible "clone". I planned to use the money to build my '66 hardtop and to buy something "different" (had pretty much only 1966 Chevelles over the past 25 years... The '70 Chevelle is different enough for me...

Of course, I told myself I wasn't going to touch it, just leave it as a nice driver UNTIL I finish my '66... Of course, I already have a list of mods I'd like to do BEFORE I even get started on the '66... Trying to hold back...

I ALWAYS browse through the classifieds on Team Chevelle, Craigslist, local paper, etc... Not that I really want or need anything else, but you never know what might pop up...:D

In the past, I have owned at least 12 others, but ALL were 1966. Every bodystyle including a solid 2-door post I gave away (I kept alot of the nice pieces though) and 2 factory 396 El Caminos. I had a nice 65 Skylark I bought for $300 to rob the firewall A/C stuff off of for one of my El Caminos and I had a '65 Impala Convertible I inherited from my grandmother... But thats it... Everything else were Chevelles...

It definitely is a sickness...

Jun 26th, 07, 5:40 PM
Three at present. A 69 Malibu, a 70SS, and a 71 Malibu. Have owned a couple of other Malibus as well over the past 25 years or so; a 69 and a 72. Also other cars include several Novas (68 & 70), an Impala (66), and a Cougar(69). It is a an addiction although I rarely ever use the cars anymore. Currently building a 350 for the 69 Bu to replace the stock 307. Nothing wrong with it really and it is an original motor to the car, but want some more seat of the pants power and go-fast stuff on it. Always looking at classifieds as you never know what is out there and might be an interest. It is an addiction of sorts. Wish I had more time to drive them as that is what the cars are for #^$%$#!!. Busy working all the time and raising two boys and they require the time for us to be a part of their lives like school, baseball, football, soccer, dirt biking, jetskiing, camping and lots of other activities.

I've had two at the same time in the past, a 67 SS and 67 El Camino. Sold the SS but still enjoy the Elky. Trade it for a comparable wagon or 300/300 Deluxe though. ;)

Jun 26th, 07, 6:50 PM
Three 66's here, but we got kind of lucky because we started with one (Bought new by my family 300 deluxe 4 door original 230/PG)for free from my grandpa. The second one (Malibu 327 4spd. original drivetrain) we got for a fair price and the third one (2 door 300 dlx, original 230/PG) is a project we luckily found for cheap.
In addition to the great advice already given, I would say to try to stay with one or at most two model years. This will certainly help you controlling the temptations that are certainly going to appear everywhere(TeamChevelle classifieds, ebay, local paper, local trips, word of mouth, etc...). Also take into consideration the storage space you have available for the cars.
Anyway, Chevelles are definitely addictive, and we are all in the same boat, so if you need help just keep in touch with TeamChevellaholic Anonymous.

Gotta have at least two. So you always have one to drive while you are working on the other! I have a 67 SS and a 69 Yenko clone.

I had a 66 SS and my 70 SS for a few years at the same time in the 70's. Sold the 66 to a buddy even though I really didn't want to part with it.

That may be one reason I've always kept the 70. It would be neat to find a driver for my one boy and have two again!

I thought Chevelles came in pairs...at least. ;)Chevelles are pack-animals There is usually an "Alpha" in the group, and the others fall in line.

I'm down to just 3 now, but I'm always looking for 7 or 8 more. :D

I have a 68 SS a 72 SS and if it counts a 69 L78 vette. I am concentrating on the 68 now and it is almost done. The 72 is in far better shape and will take no where near the effort the 68 did. The Vette is sitting there making me feel guilty.

Just so it doesn't look like I'm high jacking this thread, I have two, a '66 El Camino and '66 SS 396 Chevelle.

1966_L78, how much do you want for your wagon? I keep teasing my wife that we need a wagon so if the price is within my reach maybe we could work something out! :D

Just one Chevelle, but always keeping my eyes open for another one. Have 6 other musclecars of various makes. Probably smarter to stay with one make and model (interchangeable parts, all decode the same, don't have to post on 6 different message boards, etc), but variety is the spice of life. Now, does anyone know when I can get my hands on a GS Buick, 442, and an AMX?

I have only 1, my 64 Camino. I grew up in the back seat of my dad's 66 L-78 however. He bought it new. Ordered it with normal Malibu trim and the hottest motor available. No SS emblems anywhere. Never seen anther like it. Wish he hadn't sold it. I'd love to have it...

My fleet consists of a 55 Chevy 3100
1963 Corvair
1964 Camino
1972 Datsun 240Z Parents bought new
2001 Suburban (gotta haul the kiddies)
