im running a 13.1 468 bbc with a comp solid roller
specs on the cam is 272/280@0.50 .748in and .710 out. i run the car at the track. but lately i have been putting alot of street miles on it. one night i drove it to a freinds house which was about 50 miles round trip. and that was with a 5000 stall and 4.56 gears. my question for you harold is i was thinking about running one of your solid roller cams. i heard they are pretty easy on the valvetrain. sun is starting to shine so i plan on putting more street miles on it. the cam i was thinking about running is part#502b3lun
276/284@0.50 .710in and .690out how would this cam live on the street? this is only a weekend car. thanks for the4 info smile.gif

Try not to take it more than 2000 miles per every 24 hours........
I have NEVER in 20 years had any problem with it in normal street driving. It will turn 7500 with a good stiff rear gear, like 5.13s. It will work just fine with your 5000 SS and 4.56s.
Several questions---
What is your car weight, and what times are you currently running?
What sort of fuel system, ie -- pumps, etc, are your running?
I use this cam a lot for very low-10s, high-9s. In a very light car it will go faster.

thanks for for the responce harold, i havent weighed the car yet my guess would be between 3400 to 3600 lbs. the car is currently running 10.39 @ 126.5 mph. with a 60ft of 1.45 on stock rear suspension. im running a holley 140 fuel pump. i have read about your fuel systems that you reccommend running 2 holley blue pumps. im going to give that a try and see how it works out for me. cant hurt to try it. i was also thinking about swapping the gears to 4.88 just to see how the car would react to them.. i can install them myself just have to purchase them. i think the car could definetly use more fuel.
