I've had a TKO500 for about a year now. And I've been debating how much motor I'll need in front of that tranny for the mountains and valleys here. So, I just made a deal for a LS2. I figure it should have enough umph to pull the car around in O.D. I'm gonna go with a carb intake and use the MSD ignition to run it. And I'm gonna put a 9" in it for easier ratio changes. I've got lots of details to work out, but it should be fun when done. The plan is to drive the '66 to Mass. from New Mexico, in July 2008 for a family reunion.

So the LSx and a T350 are in the car now. Now I gotta cut the floor and make room for the TKO, then finish the clutch linkage. This has been pretty easy so far.

OK, I finally cut the hole in the floor for the TKO. With the song, "Do you really want to hurt me", by Boy George, dancing in my head, (boy george, yes, the Chevelle..................). I had to tell myself, "we have the technoligy, we can make you better"..............So now the CHERRY '66 Chevelle 300 floor has a big hole in it. Oh yeah, I'll cover it up. But it's was the thought of makin' that first cut.
So, now the LSx and TKO500 are in the car. Yahoo !!!! I'll get some pics posted tomorrow or the next day.

So I've put the El Camino up for auction on ebay. I bought a 2007 Mustang and don't need the Elky for transpo anymore. I'll use the $ on the '66 to get it done.

So, now I've got a steel cowl hood, and 2" drop/2" tall front spindles, 12" 2001 Z28 brakes for the front, brackets, calipers and rotors for the discs on the 9" going in the rear, adjustable upper rear control arms, boxed lower rear control arms, 1 1/4" front sway bar, (no rear bar yet), and probably other stuff I've stashed for the winter. I don't have a garage to work in so cold weather makes me break out in shivers. Anyway, I'm closer to done, uhhuh...................
