I am looking to buy a flex lite fan and I need to know if my motor turns clockwise ?

It doesn't matter. If you bolt on the fan backwards you'll know it instantly when air is being pushed out thru your grill-instead of on the motor.

The fan turns clockwise when looking at the front of the engine. The reason they ask is because most serpentine belt setups turn counterclockwise and use a different fan and water pump. Turning the fan around will not change the direction of air flow, it may not work as well but the air will still be going the same direction.

Correct. A flex fan flattens out at higher RPM's. If you install it backwards it will still blow air the same direction, It will just fold inward at higher RPM's instead of flattening out

Do not put a reverse rotation fan on your 396 if you are using a standard belt/pulley set up. The car will overheat. (Don't ask me how I know this.) You want the fan pulling air through the radiator, not pushing forward. It makes a big difference in cooling efficiency.

well the picture is of a counter clockwise fan, but the description is if a clockwise fan. Call 'em and make sure.......................
