Right now i have a performer RPM cam, and plan to swap to this cam.

- For my performer RPM cam we had to put on new valve springs, can we keep these valve springs, or are they too much for the 262?

- For the performer RPM we also put on an edelbrock timing chain that required no adjustments, it was matched to the cam, will we have to change this again or will we be able to reuse the current without adjusting?

Thats about it, financially 1200.00 for new heads is not worth 20 ft/lbs, but 170.00 for a cam is deffinantly worth the 50ft/lbs + in the low end and gains all over.

Anything else you guys recommend that is nice and cheap? We aren't pulling hte engine this time, so its gotta be top end only.

this stuff was installed last easter, so its not even been a year, not even broken 3000 miles actually.

P/n: #5703
Seat Pressure: 104-116 lbs
O.D. / I.D.: 1.265"/.880"
Installed Height: 1.700"

I would love to increase compression, but frankly the little things needed to install a set of cheap vortec heads puts them right back up to the cost of a nice set of better heads, and frankly this cam will get me more power than the heads.

the cam won't work if the heads don't work. Vortec heads work.

the cam will work no problem, thats proven time and again, the heads will get me another 20 ft/lbs across the board, but:

1. the only heads i can afford right now are hte vortecs.

2. im not buying a new intake and new rockers, because that immediatley kills the price advantage of the vortecs.

3. show me pair of assembled heads that are absolute-bolt-on for under 600 bucks that will improve my engine and ill buy them.
