I have a 350, and i currently have stock manifolds with 2 1/2 inch pipe through flowmasters to the rear bumper. I am going to install headers soon and i was wondering if i should put the cutouts right after the header, i really like the sound of open headers and i would like to do that once in a while, would this be a good idea? Would it sound like open headers? im not too worried about the horsepower gain with the cutouts. Any ideas? Thanks.

In my opinion, that's the ONLY place to put it graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Will it be like COMPLETE open headers or just partial, because the exhaust can still travel back through the normal exhaust?.

Exhaust will go out the easiest way possible, so mostly everything will dump out the cutout, but some will still go through the muffler, which may be good, a little backpressure for low end.

Ok sounds great. One other thing though will their be any leaking sound with the cutout capped? Im not putting the electric cutout yet thats gona be down the road, so i was wondering if the normal bolted ones leak. thanks

nope normal ones wont leak, my electric cutouts do however, but very minimal.. I love my electric cutouts, open headers at your finger tips!
