: whats a normal MPH pickup in the top half?

I was sort of wondering here after the conversations I've had today what sort of MPH it is typical to pick up after the 1/8mi to the full 1/4? Or is there no "typical" pickup?
I am trying to square everything off here, but its not adding up. If I went from 90 to 113 mph, thats 23mph and seems to make decent sense from other speeds I've seen. But 90 to 120mph is 30mph, and that doesn't seem to make sense. Or does it?
So maybe I shouldn't be doing 120 in the 1/4mi in a 4000lb car? I didn't think it had the juice to go that fast, but heck maybe it does? I don't know.
Thoughts?

From what I have seen, with a N/A Engine You gain about 20% more MPH from the 1/8 thru the 1/4.

I usually pick up about 20 mph. 93 mph to 113/114.

Normal mph correction from 1/8 to 1/4 is 1.26, and e.t correction is 1.57

That said, there are plenty of reasons a car could give seriously different results. Like how about a serious nitrous car that can't use all the juice until well down the track. There can be mechanical issues as well, like wheel hop or excessive spin off the line that wastes the first 60' compared to how well everything else is working. You could also have a car nose over in the top end of the track due to improper gearing or fuel delivery etc.

Matt, from 90 in the 1/8 to 113 in the 1/4 is exactly where I would expect you to be.

When a N/A car gains more mph than expected in the second half it usually means more suspension setup is called for, or that an improper torque converter has been selected.

Your 90mph to 113 is just about dead on. My bro in laws 69 Chevelle runs 11.9's at 112. His runs 90 in the 1/8 and runs threw the lights at 112. His 60 foot is 1.65 on average.
