Hi, you told me that u were running a cam just like the one i got for free. Can you tell me a little more about your combo? How lumpy/radical the idle is? I';m going to be breakin in the cam this weekend and i'm curious so what its going to sound like!!

ss ive run an elgin cam 556 533 lift 264 256 dur in three of my motors .whitch is very similer to yours .as for as idel it will idel at 1100.as for as bumpaty bump it has that.i love the sound of the cam.my 383 witch i just sold to a drag race frind ran some 7.30s and some low 740s in the 1/8th mile in a camaro with a 8 inch converter.the best i ever ran with it was 7.40s in my chevelle.the engine had 186 casting heads .flat top pistons, victor jr intake 750 dp holly this was not a high dallar motor.i used the same cam in my 406 with dart sportmans heads 200 runners, flat top pistons, victor intake,488 gears, glideand it ran 7.0s to 7.teens depending on the heat.thats with a 10 inch 4000stall converter.i did change the cam latter to a comp roller 630 lift 256 dur and the thing i gained was a 400 dallar hole in my pocket.if you have power brakes you will not like the cam it doesnt make alot of vacume

Thanks for the info, I forgot about the vacume with power brakes.... :( Looks like i'll be buying a canaster. Just got my Engine Oil Primer from the builder Filling it up with oil and attaching it to the motor!!!! I'm pumped. Yes i will do what i can to get a sound clip. ss if i was you i would put the vacume canister money toward a manuel brake system i think al you will need is a rod
