You installed a BTE right? How does it feel driving around town? Have any drastic loss in gas milage? I'm considering buying one for a low-budget project...

actually it is very nice around town. i dont really care about milage so i havent looked about under normal driving its about as well mannered as my tci breakaway 2400 stall.

Excellent news, 300hp! (name?) tongue.gif

Did you get a friend to help out or did you rough it alone? Most importantly, did you learn anything? Did anything unexpected creep up or was it pretty straightforward?

Now, I'd like to hear about some timeslips.... graemlins/thumbsup.gif graemlins/beers.gif

well, i had two freinds to help me. i learned that i dont want to do that again unless i have too. my headers got in the way so we just slid it back enough to get the new seal and converter in and slid it back in. time slips will be posted in two weeks and dyno results will be posted tomarro night with results of nitrous fed runs.

Broke, he got a 10" BTE from me, they are $355. It can be pretty amazing what the right converter will do to a car!

I'm trying to get an idea of how the BTE's compare to say B&M and TCI. I've driven cars with a B&M converter and it seemed a little slippery but not bad for their price. My friend installed a TCI Super Street Fighter and it was absolutely horrible. Gas milage isn't really on my top list of concerns but he went from like 15mpg to like 7mpg. Thats just silly. He then threw in an ATI of the same stall speed, he gained a lot of ET/MPH and his gas milage went back up to where it belongs. :D So by 300hp comparing his new BTE to that of a TCI kinda scares me away from considering one ;)

I guess I understand your concern! All I can say is that I have sold quite a few of the BTE's both street and race with no issues so far. Good luck with your project!

You might look at the actual statement below...

The BTE is a "10inch".

This difference alone would "normaly" mean slightly more slippage when comparing two standard shelf models versus something that is tailored to your car.
