There was an old topic in here (I think it got pushed out) where someone asked about putting their car on a diet by using 'glass hood and such and everyone said to use lightweight parts that actually perform better (tubular a-arms, aluminum heads, etc)...does anyone have a link to that topic? Thanx!

Would this be the one ? http://www.chevelles.com/cgi-bin/forum/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/41/277.html?
There are some other good topics, just use "diet" in your search.

A lift off fiberglass hood is pretty light, (11-12 lbs), but a pain on a street driven car. I've heard that replacement side windows are much thinner and lighter than the original stuff. Aluminum heads on a Big Block is a 70+ lb. savings and if you have a factory oval port intake you can put an aluminum one on and save about 25 more pounds. Lightweight aluminum wheels can save about 30-40 lbs. a set.

Yeah I too want to put my car on a diet but 'glass hoods and lexan windows ain't really my cup of tea. But aluminum rims and tubular a-arms are.
