I have been having problems with the HEI in the Chevelle.
I have very mild 350 with an ACCEL 52 Series Street Billet HEI, P/N 52100. Its mated to their recomneded coil, P/N 140008. I have power from the battery running through a 30amp fuse with a relay.
In about a months time of driving, the center contact INSIDE the cap that touches the rotor turns black, burnt and just wears down. I put my third cap on today but it didnt solve anything. I thought it was just a lack of connection between cap and rotor. With a new cap, I'm still not getting any spark. I checked voltages to the coil and cap. All seems ok. I took #1 plug wire off and tried to short it to the valve cover with a screw driver... nothing.
How do I know/test if it has a bad pickup and/or module?
Summit has the distributor under p/n ACC-52100. Below is a link to the .pdf instructions for it. I'm not sure if I am just missing something or what.

Any help would be appreciated....
Thanks
