Hi, I am looking for the locations of vin# on a 64 chevelle other than the cowl tag or the one on the door post. Thanks in advance for your help Mark

Top Part of frame rail in back of driver's wheel, stamped on top of chassis. This will be tough to see with the body on the chassis. Also, firewall by heater box.

FWIW, The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is not shown on the cowl tag and won't be stamped anywhere EXCEPT on the VIN plate on the A-pillar. The cowl tag will show the Fisher Body style and Fisher Body unit number such as "STYLE 5837" (some plants will have "STYLE 64-5837)" then the plant, such as KC, followed by the body number such as 4900. What you may find on the frame is a CON VIN and only contains the year/plant/sequence number such as 4K123456 (no series or model type)...the entire VIN (such as what's on the VIN plate) will contain the model year, series, model, plant, and sequence number such as 45837K123456.
