Be careful. ebay Picture clearly shows 1.75 rocker auction say 1.70 what will you get

One quick search for that brand shows the sell for $219 elsewhere. The 1.7 BBC one I looked at had an adjustable socket for push-rod unlike the one on e-bay/ Suggest you buy a name brand like Crane or Comp Cams...

I wouldn't touch no names. Can you picture hundreds of little needle bearings rolling around the inside of your motor - YEAH NITEMARE!

Robert's Crane Gold's are the cats arse, Crower Steel ones for longer street/heavy spring life. I use the low end Crane Energizers and have had 15,000 happy miles. They're only $175. Harland Sharps are a few bucks more. I really wouldnt cheap out on this one. Cheap to me are the $175 Cranes.

Or Comp's Pro Magnum. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
I've used both the SBC 1.5 &1.6 and BBC 1.7 versions with great success.
Got a buddy that twists his 355 to 8500 for the past 10 years with these and never had a problem.

If you want to use the stock valve covers, just use double gaskets and bend or remove the drippers. I've been using the rockers that Gene mentioned for the last 4.5 years, just going Crane Gold because I'm racing more than I thought I would. I'm real curious to see how they've(Crane Energizers) held up,read: close inspection when changing them out. I called the guy thats painting my car tonight, doing the final buff, reinstalling chrome tomorrow, good to pick up tomorrow night if the snow stays away graemlins/thumbsup.gif

If you're interested in a set of Comp pro magnums with about 5k miles on them shoot me an email. I also have a couple other name brand sets in an ad in the member classifieds.
I have found you get what you pay for in those unknown namebrand ebay deals.

If you're running the Lunati/UD 288/296 flat tappet,I'd go with stock, long slot rocker arms...roller tips are waste of money IMHO and full rollers aren't going to be worth anything ET wise..money spent vs. end result is graemlins/sad.gif
JMHO and experience..
Full rollers are when you go .600 lift and are running a roller cam
I do have to say that $59 for roller tips is damn cheap..so I guess at this point, you'd be getting a better design rocker for the same price as stamped rockers..I just would hope the quality is there..hate to see one those rollers break loose

Chris I did some search and found that none of the company makers I search want more than .525 lift and 345# spring pressures on roller tips rockers ,what I did was send Jeff the money he ask for the COMP magnum roller rockers.
I also call to stop the order for the 288/296 fat tappet cam ,I am going by AUGUST TO A SOLID ROLLER ,UD HAROLD give me some good specs. on this solid rollers, they are .630 lift but I got to do some mod to my engine ,heads valves, ect, but for now THANKS for the advise ,I am thinking for the future went buying this rollers ;)

im using them, only because thats what it came with. smile.gif alot of it has to do with opinions.some people have had problems with there engines and blame certain rockers for there problems...or other parts with out knowing who really is to blame.......or part.........

does it mean that stock rockers that break are junk? no not really.....they break for a reason.......like for me trying to get away with .600 lift on a stock rocker sure its bound to happen.........is it the fault of the rocker or me? of course it was me.......

so for any part that is being used, more then most will not blame themself for using it in a wrong application....but then just push it off as a bad design from whatever company.......

i will say i have used the most cheapest brand names out there on engines that has ran as fast as 10 sec 1/4's and have yet to find my part laying in peices........

careful inspection off parts and clearences are key to making part live i believe........

i have ran roller tip rocker arms on cams with over .600 lift and 7000 rpms......i have put the cheapest crane roller rocker arms on 10 sec cars........

im not saying the cheapest is the best design but im saying they are better then what most people give credit.........

thanks for the reply dennis

im not really concerned about any performance advantage, just durability. im only running .575 lift and the car is just a weekend toy so i dont drive it much.
