Need some advice .....on my 66 I still use the original alternator and an external regulator hower have gone over to a solid state regulator ( works better) however have gone thru a couple of regulators when the ground wire from frame to rad saddle came loose ....... as I understand it these solid state regs needs to be grounded properly ........since the reg is attatched to the rad saddle with rubber grommets assume it not grounded there so only ground is the factory ground strap from frame to rad saddle

Should I add a ground strap from regulator to rad saddle and if so where do I attatch ground strap on reg ??

Did the original point type reg have a ground strap on it ??
