Hey guys I am rather new to selling on e bay and have only bought a few limited items, one of which was a $6500 car.

Anyways I have an auction going and I had a guy ask me if I would ship to france, it's just a pair of mufflers. He is registered to ebay france, and gave me the area which he lives in and asked to provide a shipping quote if I will ship. As far as that goes he does seem legit, but you can never be certain. What would you guys do in this situation and if you would ship, any special precautions to take or anything I should know?

Is he willing to pay via paypal (so you can dispute it if necessary and get your $ back)

If not, tell him no. If so, and the risk $ isn't too high, I think I would, but as with all deals, you need to be willing to accept the loss

Yeah he would go thru paypal. I guess France doesn't scare me nearly as much as some other overseas countries.

Right now the bid is at $90 so I wouldn't be happy losing the money, but it isn't going to break me either.

I ship overseas a fair amount. Remember, always ship AIR and make sure the quote is for AIR freight. USPS has a special for for over 4# packages going international, no big deal. I would say he's probably fine as long as his feedback is decent. If it were Nigeria or something, I'd pass, but we have a decent amount of euro-members here on the "Team" sites.

I think he has like a 167 and 98% feedback or something very close to that.

I would make sure that his rating in the past 6 months is good also. I bid on an item from an ebay powerseller and won it. They had over 17000 transaction with a feed back of 99.8% but I had problems getting the item. When I began to look at there feed back more closely I found 18 neg in the past 6 months. People may be having a bad time or just might stop caring. Just my input.
