This is my first post here. I'm a regular over at team camaro however. I have a co-worker whose husband has put together a book about the cars that he has owned over the course of his life. He has a bunch of funny and interesting stories related to all of the various cars and motorcycles that he has owned over the years. I mentioned to my co-worker that I'd be interested in reading the book. Anyways, to make a long story short, I read his book and one of his cars was a 70 Chevelle SS454 in 1975 with 7000 miles on the odometer. He subsequently sold it several years later but he still has the original invoice for the vehicle from Winn Chevrolet in Beverly MA. The invoice is pictured in his book. The invoice dated 5/18/70 has a serial number on it of 1363701556716. It lists the vehicle as a 1970 Malibu Coupe Model #13637. Optional equipment is listed as follows:
Group#0310 SS454
Positraction
Power Steering
H-D Battery
Console
Cowl induction hood
Spec Instrumentation
Stereo Tape System
4 spd tran
Vinyl roof
Bucket Seats
Purchase price was $3950.00

I figured I'd post with the off chance that this could be of use to someone. I wasn't sure if the serial number was in fact the Vin... If so could someone decode?

Also, the original color looks to be gold with black vinyl roof in the pics.

Since this is a Canadian built car I believe they kept records and are available upon request. I'm not sure on how to do that but maybe someone will chime in.
