mc71454 Nov 28th, 03, 4:50 PM Alan,
How did you get the images into a jpg.?
One thing to comment on, change the big tube headers with mufflers to small tube headers with mufflers. Believe it or not according to the program, even 2" primaries should be small tube

Texas70 Nov 28th, 03, 9:29 PM Thank you very much Alan & Tom for the great info.
:D
Looks like I am getting very close to my 500Hp+ goal. Any suggestions to get the other 25+HP to get there ? graemlins/thumbsup.gif
Sorry about bouncing so soon.....
ChevelleSS7D2 Nov 29th, 03, 2:50 AM Sorry to hijack your thread. But could you guys dyno my combo too?
355 ci
Vic Jr. Intake ported to double humped 202 heads
Solid Tappet Cam (cant find exact specs on cam, but around .600 lift)
Solid lifters
Roller Rockers
Dynomax Headers
2.5inch exhaust with Cutouts after headers
Holley 750cfm Carb
11:5:1 compression
3spd Auto Tranny
10bolt posi, 3.73 gears
Thanks in advanced! graemlins/waving.gif
ClintB Nov 29th, 03, 1:51 PM Summit piston ad page says 8.94 compression with that piston. I have a 454 with the hyper pistons with .95 dome and 781 heads and was wanting to know the difference in HP from 8.84 to 10.00.
ChevelleSS7D2 Dec 1st, 03, 9:10 AM Can anyone dyno it for me???
Texas70 Dec 1st, 03, 9:28 AM Looking closer, I noticed that the dyno runs were based on an exhaust with mufflers. Do you think I would get the other 25+Hp with uncapped headers ? I am also planning on doing some porting on the heads. What HP increase might I expect from that ?
Thanks again y'all graemlins/waving.gif
SWHEATON Dec 1st, 03, 6:24 PM John,i have read from well known enging builders that it's easy to get an additional 25hp on a BBC from doing a good pocket porting job on large oval port heads.
So i would think with a mild port job & open headers (not mufflers as used for dyno simulations) your at the desired 500hp + mark.
Scott
Texas70 Dec 2nd, 03, 9:06 PM Thanks Scott, I will be talking to my machinist about doing just that this week. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
phel69 Dec 2nd, 03, 9:20 PM That engine is fairly close to mine. I run a Crane Hyd. roller with .610/.630 lift, 234/242 @.050. I have a mild port on my 781s and an 850 Holley. Dynoed at 543hp,563ft/lbs tqe. I think with a bowl clean up you will be there,(500 hp range). Mine was dynoed through mufflers. It made a little less hp than the above #s with when I put on my 1&3/4 in. headers. The above was done with 2in. Supercomps. I didn't do any tuning after I put on the 1&3/4s.I think the hp was still there. The torque was 500ft/lbs+ form 3000 to 6000 rpm. I bet yours will be very close to mine. Those UD cams are a hot ticket, it will probably out do my Crane. If I hadn't got the cam with the engine, I would have used Harold's product.

Those dyno numbers are what I'm looking for and it seems like I'm in the ballpark now. Like you said, some porting/polishing and the right cam and I should have a very nice combo. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
