i want to try and clean up my engine bay. right now the regulator is on the fender well (hoses everywhere). Heres the plan. run the main -8 line from the pump straight to the carb fuel log behind the alt, at the end of the fuel log attach the bypass regulator, and then run the -10 return line down behind the engine. will this work? will the needle and seats hold like this? ALSO, with the regulator being up in the hot spot, will this cause any issues? thanks Dave

Dave,
Go to the Edelbrock site and find thier part number 8192. (I could not make a link work to it) It is a plate that mounts the regulator up by the carb...very clean and neat. I know that several other manufacturers make something very similar. I think the one I had on my race car was a Russell, but it does not look like they make it any more.
Hope this helps,

I am going to the garage and take a picture of what i did. i will email it to you. Can't figure out this post a picture thing.

I will tell you that I have a 1/2 inch feed line going into the fuel log, and a 3/8 line retruning to the tank. the regulator is mounted on the fire wall.
Hope you like. will send shortly.

Dave, (and Chip)
If you ever think you might visit the drag strip with the car, read the NHRA rule book first. Regulators are not allowed to be mounted on the firewall. There are other restrictions having to do with any fuel line that passes anywhere near the bellhousing area.

thanks Bill. although this news kinda throws a wrench into the plans, im glad i was informed. i dont know what the rules are for running at the track, but i do plan on going a few times. is running the fuel line along the firewall (not attached) allowed? My plans for the regulator are to attach it to the rear of the fuel log, not to the firewall. thanks dave

Dave, Bill K is correct, the plate is the way to go, Im running that way too...but the Edelbrock plate will not work with a Holley, linkage will hit the passenger side. I made up my plate from 3/16 aluminum, using the Edelbrock plate for a template, then modifying it to fit...Im sure someone makes one for a Holley if you shop around, assuming that's what you run. It makes the hook ups much easier and neater too. J
