: Max Jets - worth it?

Went ahead and bought that new Mighty Demon 750 - couldn't pass up the deal. The guy actually got two dual inlet kits - one 6AN, one 8AN. I'm gonna use the 6 because it has the sintered bronze filtered inlets.

I may be doing some minor rejetting - sucker runs rich. Not gonna do anything until I go through the whole BG setup routine.

While checking on jet kits, I came across Comp Cams "Max Jets". They make some pretty bold but rational claims on flow characteristics compared to Holley jets.

Are they worth the extra bucks? They seem roughly 2X what Holley jets cost.

>> They make some pretty bold but rational claims....

Yeah, they're good at that. Marketing claims, I mean.

Good enough. I'll just go with a basic Holley kit that gives me some leeway. the Demon is 76 Primary - 83 Secondary. I'm gonna run her like she is for awhile - runs great out of the box - still seems too rich, though. I did have a nice long talk with Mike Lewis before I bought the carb and his advice is not to go jackin' around with the box setup too much if it runs good....I may get so far off the baseline that I can't find my way back.

When you do start making changes, write them down it will give you something to refer back too.I learned that from some old timers, they always said it's the small things you forget that drive you crazy! smile.gif
