Im scanning through catelogs and summit. All these oil pump driveshafts say 1966-1976. Did something change after '76? Just wondering whats going to work. The ARP says all BBC, and theres another part number for tall decks. So I dont know... hm

Yes that's the right one.

I know of no difference that happened in 76. That doesn't mean there isn't something though.

There is also this one. You can probably pick it up locally as well. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=MEL%2DIS%2D77

Phil,

Why they may state up to 1976, is that the Mark IV was only installed in Passenger cars up to around 1975/76. After that, I believe that they were only factory installed in trucks. Don't use the Mark V pump, as it is slightly different, maybe a little taller. Like RB69SS396ConV said, you got the right one.
I have been told that you should wipe the internal gears very litely with a fine emery (sp?) cloth, then clean them very good before reinstalling back into the pump. Then oil the pump before installing it on the short block.

Fred.
