Well,
I finally started getting engine parts back from the machinist this week (I was on vacation all week). Thursday I picked up the block and brought it home. The block had been vatted but still had quite a bit of paint on it. It took 3 cans of aerosal paint remover and 1 hour worth of pressure washing to get everything cleaned up good.

Yesterday I got the remainder of parts. They had just finished up the balance work and polishing the crank when I got there. In fact the crank was still warm to the touch.

Last night I started assembling the pistons. The pistons are Wiseco 4.280" bore, 48.4cc dome, 1.645" compression height, 1/16" ring package. Rods are 6.135 Crower Sportsman I-Beams, good to 850hp.

This morning I installed the oil rings and mic'ed the crank rod/main journals. I will be completing all the bearing measurements today and begin file fitting the rings this evening or in the morning. I hope to have the lower assembly completed early next week. The heads will be coming back next week sometime so I can build the top end. With any luck I'll have it on the dyno in the next two weeks :D
