Bought and installed new set of hedmann headers on my BB truck, came black now they are turning white, is this normal?, have never owned a set of hedmanns always had hookers on the Chevelles, never turned black to white in one day, Thanx in advance , POPS

My hedmans did that.I guess it is cheaper paint than hookers.I wire brushed mine and painted high temp black and they have lasted longer.

My Hedman's did the exact same thing.

Yes they just put on a quick coat of black paint for shipping and to prevent rust from forming before they're sold. I sent my Hedmans out for ceramic coating, as the high temp paint on my original iron manifolds did not last very long, so I figured it wouldn't on the headers either.
