Hey Guys,
I recently noticed that my car was idleing a little weird, so I went under the hood and found a vacuum leak at the intake manifold. What happened was the intake gasket must have worked its way up from between the head and the intake manifold. This is causing a vacuum leak, now my question is instead of changing the gasket now. If I use "the right stuff" by permatex and run a large bead along the intake manifold and head will this provide me with a temporary fix until I have the time to fix it the right way?

If its leaking at the top, its probalby leaking down below. Even worse it could start leaking antifreeze in the oil , its not worth it. Buy a good set of Fel Pro intake gaskets.

I don't understand how the gaskets move with the bolts in place and tight? Is this a BB with after market heads that do not use the bolts in between the runners? Mine was leaking there.

this will make youe engine run hotter in affected cylinder/s. new gasket now. will be well worth it in the long run. cheap temp fix will be the death of the engine. dont short change the motor. new gasket is a must.
