I have a 1972 Chevelle Malibu that I dropped a new 350 in. I bought a ProComp mini starter for it off of ebay(hitachi style, it has a lifetime warranty). Well the time came to see if the starter would engage and it didn't. I believe the wires are on the right posts because they didnt smoke. However the starter still will not engage. I don't know if its a wireing problem or if its a starter problem. Can anyone help? Does anyone have an ignition wiring diagram?

The fat purple wire is the one that turns on the solenoid to rev up the starter. The yellow wire is the one that goes back to the ignition coil for a "boost" to the coil while cranking. The purple wire goes to the "s" terminal and the yellow wire goes to the "r" terminal on the solenoid.
