I have the chance to buy a 5.3/4L60E out of a new GM truck on the cheap. What all is involved in getting this combo to fit/work in my '68 elcamino? It had a 307/TH350 when I bought it. It currently has no motor or trans.

if it's out of a 4X4 truck, then you will need to find a 2wd trans, and i think you'll need an F body oil pan.
other than that, it's just a matter of getting (or making) motor mount adapters, plumbing in an efi fuel system, and hooking up the computer.

I would search the forums here for "ls1" and the conversion section of ls1tech for A body posts.

There are plenty of guys doing conversions and you will find most of the information there. I will be doing a LS1 and T56 conversion into my 70' Elky.
