Does the car insurance cover your car if you drive it to the track or just around town? I have checked out a few insurance companies before and they only insure your vehicle if it is going to and/or in a car show. In otherwards, if something happens while driving to a friends house, they will not cover it.

check out hagerty classic car insurance they will do you right.i had the same problem when i checked into getting classic car insurance.most of them had some type of driving restriction on them hagerty does not.give them a call and talk to a rep and i think you will like what you hear.best thing is that i payed only $216 for one year of full coverage.cant beat that...............

I'm going through State Farm and their classic/collectors insurance. It's cheap, especially since I'm a 24 year old male. Been using them for years on all my vehicles, just changed agents when I moved from KS to GA. I broke away to progressive once, and will never do that again.

As far as how they handle the classic car insurance I've been purchasing, I don't know, and hopefully for my Chevelle's sake I won't have to find out.

Hagerty, as long you have a garage for your chevelle and a daliy driver, you should be good to go.

I had a 71 Vette insured with State Farm under regular insurance. $22000 value $300K liabiity etc. for $550 year. My wife wrecked it and the estimate was $14000. They insisted it be taken to a Vette restoration shop not a body shop. Sold the car in the shop based on the rep of the owner.

The insurance we had on this car allowed us to drive it as we wanted. No questions asked. The peace of mind was worth the extra $300 a year. I have heard horror stories about trying to settle with these classic insurers.

We have all our insurance with State Farm and the greatest agent in the world. So many times it is not all about front end price but the back end when you need them.

Exactly, this ranks as one of the most posted subjects IMO. Lots of good info. I personally have had good luck with Hagerty and have been with them for years. I highly recommend them.
