I personally haven't had much luck with the E'brock AFB's. I have yet to see or talk to anybody who has gotten good results with one of their larger AFB's. Of course, now that I've said this in writing guys will probably come out of the woodwork saying how wonderful they are. smile.gif

I've never ran an 800cfm Edelbrock, but I've ran a 650 cfm on my GTO and my 23 T-bucket before I sold them, and also ran a 750 cfm on my 69 SS before I sold it. The Edelbrock carbs were great...never let me down and they are really easy to tune. Plus no gaskets below the fuel line so theres no chance of leaks.

I've been running the normal version 800 for about a year now. I think it works good.

Hi,
The Thunder series is a Carter AVS,and works a little different than the AFB.It sorta works the same way a Rochester 4ME does.Kinda like a vacuum secondary carb.BTW they were stock on 383,440 auto Mopars like the Road Runner and the Super Bee.Its a good reliable carb that should be just fine on a mild big block.
Peace,
Steve
