Hi,

Generator light came on about a month ago. Changed regulator air gap, and voltage screw, and cool... light went out after car starts (it still lights on startup), but car overcharges to roughly 16v

Adjusted regulator again, was able to adjust voltage back down, but now generator light comes on and stays on.... so, tried again... now, i've got generator light on and it's overcharging...

Should i just quit dorking around and get a new regulator, or, should i REALLY quit dorking around and just convert to newer technology, and get a new alternator?

And if last is best.... how tough is that to do...

I should add that my hair was not curly when i started this procedure, and hoping to keep it that way... i'm not great with electrical..

Thank you in advance, the site is amazing!

Get a new voltage reg. The new ones are solid state and work very well.
