So I used a piece of hose to connect the two vent tubes on my Holley Dbl Pumper and cut a very small "V" in the hose so the tubes would still vent and the car runs great except sometimes when I launch, it is still puking fuel out my 'V' cut. Is there a more permanent solution here? It's not consistent....

They make little plastic rectangular tube inserts to go into the vent hole of the metering block. Sounds like yours are missing. Or your float level or fuel pressure is high.

Either the vent whistles are missing or your car leaves awful hard.

Definitely has the whistles but I'm not sure what you mean by the rectangular plastic tube inserts. I have a rubber line connecting the two whistle's with a v- notch cut in the top so it can vent. At WOT on launch, fuel leaks out the v-notch and bogs the motor a little. Regulator is set to 6psi...is there any plugs for the whistles and then an alternate vent possibility?

My whistles are metal.....is there any other way to stop the fuel from spraying out on launch?
Thanks!

Thanks! VENT WHISTLES are NOT the VENT TUBES permanently attached to the carb housing. They are squarish tubes, look like a band instrument reed, sorta- that go in the slot leading to the VENT TUBES with the sole purpose of preventing SLOSH.

Bob Wow!! thanks! These were definitely not part of the rebuild kit nor were they on the carb to begin with....now the way they sit in, will it be a problem with my Adjust-A-Jet blocks?

Why don't Holley Double Pumper carbs have vent tubes? Mine just has these real short little metal things that can't prevent splash all that much.

No, I do have vent tubes! The primary one is really short and the secondary one is a bit longer to match the overall height of the primary one. I guess i don't have a plastic extension that is housed in the fuel bowl to prevent the fuel from sloshing out the vent which is exactly my problem. I have Holley Adjust-A-Jet blocks on mine and I think that it compounds the problem.....sorry for the confusion....
