Anyone ever had surface rust on body panels and had those annoying pits left behind from it? What did you do to make it look new and ready for paint?
Also, what about the lead that the factory used? What do you put in it's place when you replace the quarter panels? Please help. Thanks!!

Remove as much loose rust as possible (40 grit grinding pad). Then if the pits are still there, use a rust inhibitor (sealer) such as POR 15 then fill over the top of the POR 15. Be carefull not to sand off the POR 15 when leveling the filler. Might want to scuff the POR 15 surface, but do not go through it!

If you want to get the rust out you may want to get a small sandblaster or spot sandblaster. That's the only way to truly get it all out.
