Just thought I would let every one know that after trying Hooker super comps and hedman headers
(both of which had to be beat to death to fit in my BB 66) graemlins/angry.gif graemlins/angry.gif , I bought a set of Doug Thorley headers from Summit (DTE-313)and these things FELL into place.I had to put 1 minor dent to clear the passenger side control arm rear bushing and that was it. If any of you guys are about to buy headers for your BB 66-67 don't waste time with any other brand, Dougs are the best! graemlins/hurray.gif

Cool
Summit calls DTE-313 "shorty" style with a chrome plating...does that sound right? I'm curious how the chrome plating holds up.

shorty's aren't a disadvantage imho, what size are the primaries?

The primaries are 1 3/4", 3" collector. They exit
approx. dead center of the trans pan (th400) and they line up w/ the humps in the cross member.
The passenger side can even be removed and re-installed with all mounts in place and tightened.

The drivers side has to be raised a little to provide clearence for the steering shaft. IMHO, these are THE headers for a 66-67 BB (providing you have an auto)I still have to install the Torque Tech 3" exhaust and Super Turbo mufflers (make sure you order the HL kit) I had to trim maybe 3" off the head pipe, but other than that it is a true do it yourself installation.

The only reason I will have to take it to the exhaust shop is for a little welding and an H-pipe. These headers ROCK! graemlins/hurray.gif graemlins/hurray.gif

I have to dissagree. I just installed 2" Hedman HTC hedders in my BB '67 with Moroso solid mounts and a manual 4-speed. I didn't have to dent or bend anything.
