My water temp guage climbs to 230* in traffic. the lights never come on. Oil pressure is fine, not running like its hot or smell. This is a old SUN gauge, is there anyway to check the guage or sender, or just replace it with a mechanical one? thanks jim

jim is this an electric sending unit for the water temp ?? if so they have been known to give bad readings if the threads on the bottem are all covered in thread sealer ........ use brass fittings :D
