Hi all,
Does anyone have a pic of where the horns mount in a 65 Chevelle? I took them off but it's been so long I forgot where to mount them. Any pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you have a assembly manual it will have a page that shows the location and correct part numbers. If no one else can help before Monday I should have a copy . Gary

This is a shot taken from the driver's side - looking straight down from the radiator support. The washer bottle is on the left, and the fender is on the right. Mine's a '65 too. Tom

I took a picture on my 65, the bracket for the horn on right is wrap around the front. Both brackets are L shape that is held by one bolt.

The horn on the left is not correct. It is a newer style replacement. (plastic).I will try to remember to look tomorrow for info . Gary

Do you mean I have a plastic horn? It sure loooks like I have the original metal ones. I have to check it out when I get home. I will take them out to get a better pic.

Hi,
I'm not sure if the horns are OEM but they were mounted when I got the car. I was so simple that I thought it would be easy to remember when it came time to put them back. One year later I can't remember squat. <g> It's like a damn rubiks cube. I know it should all go back together. I just can't figure out how. What's throwing me off is that everyone's horns are mounted in a "U" configuration and my brackets dont seem to match that. Only the one on the right does but not the left. I really wish I had taken a damn pic like I had intended to. Oh well.....

I don't have the assembly manual. The correct Part numbers for 65 are L=489 & H = 490. The numbers are stamped in the bottom corners. The brackets must look like and be clocked like the atached pictures. Gary
