Anyone ever use this cam? It has 255-263 at 50deg 540-536 lift 105 lobe. Was thinking about running one in a 406 sbc 10-1 comp world heads with 200 int runners-will be using 456 gears and 3500 stall at 3500 lbs. This cam is a solid! anyone with any et slips on one? Thanks!

I seem to remember I sold about 10,000 of them, and you'll need to use rods that allow that to clear the rod bolts.
Also a good high-volume mech fuel pump like a Carter 172-gph, and 1/2" #8 fuel line from tank to carb.
It should run low 11s if you can hook it up.

Thanks Harold! My rods are the stock type 5.565 400. I will check the clearance for sure! Am shooting for hi 11's or better!

Stock 400 rods will clear, but that cam will rev. Oval track racers used to call the 400 with stock rods "Cricket" motors, and the 299/296F5 was popular in them.
The rod bolts will be the weak link. That cam will turn well over 7000, and I don't know about the stock rods.
Standard 350 rods or longer will not clear without some rod bolt work.
I put the cam in 4 to 6 degrees advanced--99 to 101 INT CL.

I had that cam in my 406 before I changed my set-up. With no fuel pressure about 100ft from finish line and a slipping converter ran 8.20 1/8 mile. Was probalby capable of 7.60-7.70's. I had kb flat tops, ported sportsmanII, mangled team g intake, 825cfm silver claw, 1 5/8 headers, 4.10r&p, dayco 3500 stall. Upgraded to 13:1's, 220cc alum heads, 304/312 .660" solid roller on a 104lsa, tci 8" 4500 stall, 1 3/4 super comps, port matched super victor. Havent raced it yet, still trying to eliminate the problems. Don't want any excuses for being slow other than its a terd!!

My stock 400 rods are magged-balanced-resized-and arp bolts-Don't plan on shifting over 6200-I have 2 intakes an rpm and a super victor-on my old motor the rpm was 2 tenths faster in the 1/8th! Want to run 7.4 1/8th:yes:
