I'm putting the parts together for my 468. I am thinking about using the Comp XE274H cam and about 10:1 compression. What has me worried is the possibility of rocker slot problems with the high lift of the cam. Has anybody had any experience with .550"+ lift and stock rocker arms?

I don't want to use rollers because I want to keep my stock valve covers. So, about my only other option from stock is Crane long slot rockers, which I will get if I need to, but I would like to stay with stockers. Thanks for the help and info guys.

For what it is worth, I ran a .550 lift Lunati cam with stock rockers and they hit the stud. I invested in a set of long slot Crane's and that fixed the problem.

I thinkI only paid $65, so the investment was minimum.

Also, I use my stock valve covers and have full roller Crane's under them. I just used a double thick gasket for clearance. It works mint.

Read this post. Ben70 used comp magnum roller rockers and a 660 lift cam w/ his stock valve covers. Also used diff. valve cover gaskets.
Hope this helps,Mitch

I used stock rockers with a .528 net lift cam and some of the rockers hit the stud on the valve closed end. I used a die grinder to extend the slots a little and all was well.
