I'm considering upgrading my NOS Super Powershot to a Cheater system. I know I will need new fuel and nitrous solenoids but I was under the impression that both kits used the same plate. After looking on their website I see two different part numbers.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the Super Powershot and the Cheater injector plate?

I thought that the limiting factor with the Super Powershot system was the solenoids. What would happen if I ran the Cheater solenoids with the Super Powershot plate?

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

I have to check for sure but I'm pretty sure the SP plate has 4 holes and the cheater I believe 16 total in the spray bars. This will limit flow even if you put a bigger jet in. How big of a jet do you want to run?

I have compared the Powershot and the Super Powershot and the Powershot plate has just a few holes while the Super Powershot has alot more (don't know exact number, didn't count them).

I was wanting to run at least 175HP shot (maybe as much as 200).

Even though the Super PS is "rated" to 175hp, I've heard that 150hp is really the "max" flow for the smaller solenoids.

Super Powershot and a Cheater system use the same plate.
Cheater just uses bigger soleniods.

if you want to upgrade buy the Big shot upgrade,
I jetted it to .082 square which was a 210hp hit.

hot rod,

Do you know why NOS has two different part numbers for the Super Powershot and Cheater plates?

Darren,
I can't answer that for you.
I have had those 3 plates next another same number of holes same id,maybe its a marketing thing.

There is a newer crossbar plate that works better than the older plates. Be careful that any "T" or "Y" has holes that are bigger than the jets or you'll only get about 200 H.P. out of the system. My son had this problem on his racecar. The "Y" only had a .087 hole thru it while his truck had a "Y" with a .125 passage.

Called NOS tech line yesterday and they told me the Super Powershot and the Cheater plates were the same.

I also asked about the difference in the solenoids. The guy told me that the smaller nitrous solenoids (Super Powershot type) had an orifice size of .073 while the Cheater solenoids had a .090 size orifice.
