what is the stock deck height of a 4-bolt chevy 400? i tried searching but had no results :-\

just trying to figure out what it would be, since i'm trying to calculate my compression ratio. aren't stock sbcs usually 9.025"?

3.75" scat crank, 5.7" scat rod, 1.425" compression height speed pro piston, sounds like i'll have .025"... can anyone verify that for me please?

thanks!

Yep, that's what they're SUPPOSED to be.

Whether it is or not is the question.

Good chance it's not even side to side, OR front to back.

Welcome to "Trial Assembly". Deck it as needed.

9.000", +.030", -.000"

Most untouched motors are in the 9.025" neighborhood

Most likely, you'll be around .025" down in the hole

The last 2 times I've rebuilt my motor, the pistons sat .032-.040" down the hole with stock 5.565 rods and then .028-.030" with my new 5.7 H-beams. The stock rods had been resized, but that should have only shortened the rod .002-3".
