Just curious Scott, why did you backhalf it? Were the floors in bad shape? I'd like to do it to mine, but its too cherry to cut up,I can't even bring myself to install a rollbar,,,yet :D

Well ...I have alway's wanted a Pro Street car....But yes I brought it to him to see on just narrowing the rear and going with a deep dish wheel etc....We started to pull the car apart and the floors were cracked and just not looking good at all.....Then after looking at the rest of the car and the frame, we saw that the frame was in bad shape and had nothing strong to weld to .....So it was just time.....

The part that sucks is over the last seven years I have done a full frame off, and a mini tub ...TWICE....and then some.... and could have almost paid for this job.....I wish I had just done it years ago...But I didn't have the cash back then either to do it all at once.....

Because my frame was notched already and there were many other body mods ...It was easy fo me to cut up ...This will be done the right way and look 100 % better than it's ever looked and also be the strongest and safest it's ever been.....

If I had a very solid car I would buy a car that either needed a frome or try to find one done...For me I HAD to do something either way the car needed to be done. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I'd like to find a chassis thats done like yours or a first gen camaro that's been backhalved, and just trade cars. I've always wanted a pro street car myself...Looks great Scott.

No need to explain to the "Oh my God your going to cut it" crowd.

I think it looks, and will work awsome. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I'm thinking about doing that to mine over the winter.

What are you using for the rear? any new pics?

Here's were I think mine is going.

Ken, its tough to cut one that has solid floors and trunk, original quarters, I'm going to have a hard time even putting a rollbar in mine. Not sure what it will do to the value.

edit: I guess if the skin stays rust free, the other parts can be replaced

I guess if the skin stays rust free, the other parts can be replaced True! I know of at least three frames that I can obtain, sheet metal is available through several sources and I do all of my own work.

It is a hard decision, but if work is high quality and the final product very nice its a no-brainer for me.
