I am going to buy a set of bushings for my 68 SS, and was wondering if I should go with the polyurethane or polygraphite? Someone told me to just go with the polyurethane, because the polygraphite will make "the car ride to stiff, like its riding metal on metal" Is there really that much of a difference on how the car will ride between the two? My thinking is that I should just go with the self lubricating polygraphite bushings for the little bit extra money. Any input would be great!!! Thanks!

I personally have never heard anyone complain about the polyurethane bushings.

AFAIK, there is no difference in ride between the two. The PG are said to be quieter. If you've heard the PUs, you'll know why most go with PG. PGs are always black, PUs can be any color except black.

Polygraphite bushing are standard polyurethane with some graphite added to reduce squeaking.
I would highly recommend the polygraphite unless you want to grease up your bushings annually. Both will ride identical.

I agree, go with the polygraphite. I've used both, and the polygraphite ride is identical.
I'm currently running polygraphite lower front control arm bushings and rubber upper fronts.
I replaced the rear lowers with rubber last time and the rear uppers are still polygraphite. I actually feel the handling is improved without poly bushings all the way around.
