: Which throttle cable to order? 68 Elk w/ Holley 750

So my throttle cable is pretty thrashed, so i want to replace it.

Looking in the resto catalogs they list a couple different ones... Which one will work best with the holley carb? I don't care about originality (i know 68 had a slightly different one than 69-72... the later one would be ok for me)

The cable that was in the car already seemed to not fit well after i took off the qjet- it seemed to be about 1" too long (plastic firewall mount determined the length) and that caused it to bend down after the throttle bracket... to fit.

Any thoughts? I looked at the lokar cables, and it looks like i'd have to use one of their gas pedals with it- the end doesn't look the same as the GM one.

Thanks-
Ben

Come on... somebodys got to know...

they list 3 BB different cables.

68-69 BB
70-72 BB
70-72 BB 'Special Performance'

What is different about the special performance one? Is it designed for Holley carbs, or something else (didn't holley's come stock on the 68-69 375HP motors?

Just trying to figure out if one of these is better than just ordering the 68-69 BB cable.

THanks-
Ben

I used a stock 69 cable with my 454, single Holley carb...also a Demon with no problems. I now have a Lokar operating my dual Edelbrocks and I used the 69 factory gas pedal with no issues also. Hope that helps. :beers: http://www.chevelles.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=7811&stc=1&d=1181781307
