Was wondering who's used it? How much lope does it have? What c.r. does a 350 sbc need to run it?

I had one...in a 9.4-1 355..ran good..not much of a lope though. Could tell it wasn't stock, but not much more.

I would think it would have a nice lope to it. I have the Comp 268H which has less lift and it has a noticeable lope. Enough people think the car isn't running right.

BTW my setup:

355
882 heads, ported decently
performer intake
HEI 50k coil MSD wires
650 spreadbore
Hyper pistons, flat 4 relief (about 8.5 to 9 comp)
topped with holley powershot 14x3 filter

Runs pretty good, gets great milage (w/th350 and 3.08 it got 18 MPG highway at 65-70, now has a 700 but I dont know milage yet)

Makes for a great daily driver that can run with mildly modded GTs and nearly stock Camaros pretty well.

My setup starts its major torque pull at around 2000 well up to 5000, never took it past that. With the lower 1st and 2nd in the 700 I catch the tires cutting loose a bit once it hits the torque band.

So in general, its no beast like some guys here, but I'm shooting for daily driver durability and fuel economy right now. I am much happier with this cam than the 272 that was in the motor the car had when we bought it, it was overcammed pretty bad and some would argue it might still be but I like it.

Imho, the CC 268HE is a winner for a spirited "daily driver" as long as you are about 9 to 1 CR. and above or even almost at 10...

At 8 to 9, I'd go a CC 260HE!!!

I just bought the Comp 265DEH kit for my mild Vortec headed 350 project...replacing the circa '78 smog head/2 bbl top end.

Thanx. I was wondering because I notice Auto Zone had this cam and lifter kit sitting on their shelf. I was tempted to want to get it but thought I better ask first.

I'm runnin that cam in a Vortec headed 355.

It has a noticeable idle, and makes great power to 4000 rpm. I'm runnin factory iron exhaust manifolds and factory exhaust pipes.

I think headers and free flowing exhaust would allow it to pull to 5000-5200.

I would definatly recomend it!

I would definatly recomend it! Yup, mine pulls hard all the way to just under 5000 with a reg performer intake, i bet the rpm would give it a lil more.
