I have two sets of the reveal molding for the back glass and I am having a problem getting all of it to seat. I can get three quarters of it to snap in but then can't get the other to. Any tricks or suggestions? Window had new tape and caulking put under it about 2 months ago and had to get new clips (they tried the same as the front for clips but the back are different) and have put them in. PITA
Thanks,
Herbie

Had a similar situation with our '67 about 10 years ago when we had the rear glass re-installed at a local shop. We could not, no matter what we tried or who tried, get all pieces of the moulding to seat properly. I called the owner of the glass shop and he stated that his workers probably used the wrong sealer and we needed to have the glass removed and the correct "thinner" seal installed. He did the replacement himself and installed the trim at no cost. Just goes to show you that the "old timers" sometimes are the best source for an answer to a problem. Hope this helps.

Yep, that's what it sounds like. They should have used the 5/16th's tape kit and they must have used the 3/8th's size.
Makes it next to impossible to install the reveal molding.

Thanks alot. I figured that the window was going down far enough. Though it might be because the molding hadn't been put on right away and the tape got stiffer. You all have answered my questions and made me happy again.
I have decided to go with a new back glass and will have it installed with the 5/16. Question: Should the front glass also have been the 5/16"? Same size tape was used for both the front and rear. Molding is on the front but was hard to install. After market set for the front. Drivers side top corner leaves a gap.

Herb,
The front should be 3/8'ths inch tape kit.
Don't let anyone talk you into urethane. It's just not made for the older vehicles.

Thanks Dot & FTG. I believe 3/8 was used both front and back. The glass co. used a black primer, then the tape, and then urethane? caulk stuff. I spoke with another glass co close by a minute ago about the back glass replacement and they only glue them in. Told them not interested. Trying to get ahold of the body shop to find the name of the glass co they used which was located in Ducktown TN. I live on the NC/GA/TN/SC border in the middle of nowhere. Don't guess I could carve a little off the tape since the caulk was put on top of it.
LOL Thanks

Your back window is probably a "thick" original requiring the 5/16 tape. Your windshield may be a "thinner" replacement glass and you need the 3/8" tape for it.
