With the cam failures many have experienced lately, what do you think of this?

Good idea or just marketing with no benefit?

I cant say as I have never used a Reed cam with that finish before but for decades the Parkerized finish was worked well. Basically the small surface imperfections etched into the metal was to trap and hold oil. I remember when lifters used to be parkerized also.

Yet for many years Direct Connection ( now known as Mopar Performance ) ..thier cast iron cams had bright shiney smooth surfaced lobes with no parkerzing on them. They very rarely had any trouble with them.

I'm curious what others have found.
