I am running a Demon carb, and love the adjustability of it. I recently noticed that the mains are coming in at 1400 rpm on the pass side and 2000 rpm on the driver's side. If I soak it in carb cleaner will it hurt anything? I would be disassembling the carb of course. I would soad the primary metering block and the main body. I just don't want to do more harm than good.

I'd just blow out the passages with compressed air and spray carb cleaner. I don't really like soaking carbs, never did. Blowing them out has never failed me yet, either. I think soaking might remove any anodizing on the parts, too.

I sprayed and cleaned it out last night, but didn't finish til 10:30 so I haven't started it yet, as I like my neighbors. I did find a chunk of something in the uppermost emulsion hole. I really didn't need to soak, it's not like I had varnish built up ar anything.
