So I might not be a redneck. I bought the correct distribution block and prop valve for a 70 chevelle from allyears. (payment will be in the mail in the morning). Im trying to get my lines refigured from the mess that was in there. Ive got wrong size ends. Instead of going to get the right size fittings I decided to just drill a 3/16 to a 1/4 inch line fitting and counter sink the end. Then grabbed the double flare tool and thought I was good to go. Well I can barely get the line on. And the darn thing leaks real bad. I took it apart and when I counter sunk it, it just chewed up the line. Do I need to make up a 2 inch spacer? or can I get a fitting? I really dont want to replace the whole line. Its the line going to the rear brakes. Any quick, easy, and safe ideas? thanks jim

Well the parts store arent what they use to be, fortunately pep boys had the adapter brake line 5/16 to 1/4 on one side 1/4 on the other. Then ended up just replacing the whole line to the back. Of course they only carried 4 foot sections and I needed 8 feet. so I installed a union. I think I got the brakes now. But next time I get into it. im going to order the proper booster and MC. and just order all new lines from classic tube or someone. jim
