Any new things to try out Friday for traction enhancement?? Need some Tyr-agra! :yes:

I plan on trying real,real hard to keep it between 2500-3000rpms when I take of and slipping out of the clutch as opposed to dropping the hammer. It is a lot harder then it sounds especially when there's someone staged with you and the lights coming down.
I hope to see a couple others out there Friday.

I disassembled the secondaries on my holley 770 Street Avenger tonight. the stock jetting is 72/75... It has run awesome on the primaries all winter- but I think those secondaries are way too lean- I'm gonna rob the 84 jets out of my other problamatic holley and put them in the SA- and give that a shot, see how it likes it.

I dusted off my extra set of lower control arms and the inserts i bought 2 years ago to box them with... I'll get my neighbor over this weekend to weld them up for me, then i'll get some new bushings pressed in. My Axle housing upper bushings are totally shot- so those need to be replaced as well.. I think I'm going to have to build myself one of those removal tools since those are a b*tch to get in and out.... anyone already have one?

I started scoping out new & used drag radials & wheels today... hope to have some on the car when we do the TNT night down at Pacifc in July.

Traffic sucks getting out to Monroe- You basically have two choices-

I5 north, then take highway 2 to monroe.

or

I405 to I522 (east towards wenatche) 522 ends up in monroe.

If you take Hw2- take the first left turn after the Evergreen State Fair. There should be a small signboard saying STREET DRAGS there. Go back about 3 blocks and turn left onto a gravel driveway- it winds around back to the entry zone.

If you take 522- Take it all the way to the end- then take a right- and then an immediate Right- again, you should see a signboard sayign STREET DRAGS... then the same thing, left onto the gravel... etc etc...

Gates open at 6, but according to darryl they start letting folks in between 5 & 5:30

to get the most out of Test and tune before bracket racing starts, get there early!

74/84's sound better. The 84's in the secondary should really help Ben if it only had 77's before and no power valve. I would leave the 74's in the primary, those are tops for size for me, no bigger unless you've got a much more serious high compression beast.

my street avenger seems to be setup with 72/75 jetting from the factory... I think I'll leave the 72s alone as they have done fairly good all winter on the primaries, but the 84's should really wake it up when the secondaries kick in. You are correct, no secondary P/V. I'll crack open the vacum actuator to see what spring is in it. I think silver one is in out of the box...

My goals before NEXT friday's TNT @ monroe (june 22)-

1. Dial in the street avenger w/ new jetting
2. replace throttle cable
3. Get my 3point seatbelts installed (I need to fab up a shoulder pivot mounting point for it)
4. Box my Extra pair of Lower Rear Control Arms
5. Borrow the press Dave made to knock out the upper housing bushings and replace those- Re-install upper and lower rear arms w/ all new bushings.

I'm not sure if Dave will have his drive shaft loops ready by then, but I'd like to get one of those bolted up as soon as he has them done...

Thanks Frank- but I'm coming from work in down in Kirkland- and its quicker for me to just head out on 180th from my house and jump on 522 out at echo lake, than it is to run up farther north.

Besides I'm going to try and drag my neighbor along this time- his 69 chevelle (rat powered) is still in bodyshop hell, but should be out later this summer and i KNOW he's gonna run it...

You'll have to wait a little longer to see the car... Tonight i'm going to start pulling the control arms off for new bushings- one of the reasons i won't be running this week.

After last weeks disapointing carb performance and also watching that guy roll his truck at the beginning of the night, I'm all about safety, and getting it to run and launch right- So that means DriveShaft Loop, Get my 3 point belts in- carb will be dialed in right, and I'll have my rear suspension nice & newly rebuilt.

I Still can't afford slicks, but they are on the menu to be bought soon.

It is so hard trying to launch at 2500-3000rpms. I think it will work well though. A little bog or a little tire spin should still be better then smoking tire half track. Let's hope weather holds...

Ben, Just go a 15X8 rim and up to a 295/50/15 or 275/60/15's (295's look better). 325/50/15's will fit, kinda, but mine rub when going around corners faster than slow.
