Alright! I know alot of you out there have built or had someone build an aluminum or custom firewall. Mine is coming along alright. graemlins/clonk.gif

I took the wiper motor off today because it was disgusting, I wire brushed it, sanded it and painted it gloss black, this thing looks absolutely brand new! Very happy with it. :eek:

Im not sure what pattern would look nice and clean when I get new the wiper motor, my firewall will probably be 1 piece from the passenger side out to the wiper motor, there is no AC or any of that stuff. Then another 1 or 2 pieces depending on how hard it is to get around the steering column and master cyl.

Right now If ANYONE has pictures of a firewall, id love to see them. Ive seen a couple before but lost the pics, guys from here of course... I just need help with the wiper motor section for now, any pics would be great. I made a template out of cardbord then I cut my aluminum, it mocked up ok, I wasnt happy with it near the wiper of course... so you know... pics or ideas...
Thanks guys. graemlins/beers.gif

here is a pic of my 71 firebird firewall, we cut out about a 3x1' section of firewall and welded in a new piece of 16 guage steel, filled in all holes including speedo, and all the dents and divets in firewall, and painted it body color. I had to cover up some of hte nice firewall with the heater box :( , I also mounted my coil under the dash and used a MSD firewall pass thru, and completey dynamated the back fo the firewall and the whole interior, check it out;

I put foil backed foam insulation to help keep heat out of the interior.

Holy crap thats a beaut Cody ;) And KNUD, that looks exactly like my firewall right now, I used the same stuff, but to level it out, all the dips and things. Im going to put some thin shiny aluminum over it.

Cody, That's going to be one sweet ride when you get her wrapped up, fast, clean, good handling, etc. Definately a keeper.

Cody, your engine compartment makes me sick! ;) :D

Makes me not want to even open the hood of my car.

Seriously though, that is going to be one sharp ride! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Not that you can see it since it's black...But I covered my whole fire wall with a new sheet of steel then blended as needed.
