I tried this in the Electrical section and got no response. Maybe it will do better in the Performance section.

What are your overall thoughts on the investment for this kit? Is it worth the money? (Approx. $100.00) Does it provide that much better performance for the bucks? How long does it last? Anyone know if it's dependable? Do you need to buy a spare to have on hand?

Well personally I like them. I have put them on all my old chevys. And yes BUY a spare module. And I highly recommend the spike resistor module thingy (forgot the mallory term). I blew one once by arching a battery post. Since I put in the spike module, haven't blown another.

And yes, I think the car starts up quicker, runs better, and no points to reset, gap or replace.

I like em too...I've run two conversion kits, and now just the whole distributor w/o vacuum advance. Make sure that you do not run 12 volts to it,you can use the factory resistor wire or a ballast resistor, thats usually what burns them out,,,too much voltage. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I have had them in two different cars over the years with absolutely no problems.
Knock on wood.........the side of my head!
